Eduard

Citește această pagină în română de aici.

Eduard is Ceata's reimplementation of the Edward reply bot referenced in FSF's Email Self-Defense guide.

It is a GPG troubleshooting script that reads an email from STDIN, checks it for PGP signatures and encryption, then replies appropriately. It is usually called from /etc/aliases.

You can test it by sending a signed and/or encrypted message to eduard@ceata.org.

Features

  • Recognises PGP signatures and decrypts encrypted emails. Supports both PGP/MIME and PGP/Inline.
  • Encrypts replies when the key is available.
  • Imports keys from keyservers or email attachments.
  • Can print debug information to standard error or to a logfile.
  • Supports keys with passphrases and can use gpg-agent.

Improvements over Edward

  • Recognises PGP signatures.
  • Uses a MIME library instead of parsing manually. Works properly for any MIME encoding.
  • Reports any combination of signed, encrypted, has public key attached.
  • Includes raw GnuPG output, for easier troubleshooting.
  • Includes a library that can be used by other programs.
  • Has documentation and a testsuite.

License

Eduard is free software under Perl's dual license, which includes GNU General Public License, version 1 or any later version. See why it's important to use version 3.
